When I still had my young mind
And I'd fly to the moon
on a balloon

There was a town
Where lived an ancient sad clown
She would spin out a tomb
On an old loom

Each day we'd climb the old staircase to see who she named
Etched in stone
Date they were born
Date they would die
She was never wrong

One man was named
He saw the date he'd be maimed
It was two years away
He wasn't yet gray

The more that he tried
To avoid the dread death prophesied
Only ensured his fate
Would fall on that day
